"Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists.... When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence."

—Erich Fromm (1900-80) German-born American psychoanalyst, emphasized role of social conditioning

Annual Library Used Book Sale @ Memorial Park

Library Board of Trustees manage the annual book sale over Labor Day Weekend.

Annual Library Used Book Sale @ Memorial Park

Library board members Ken Farmer, Lucinda Pebley, and Susan Leider help out at the 2007 book sale. It was the most successful sale in the history of the event.

Our annual used book sale is held over the 3-day Labor Day Weekend during the widely  known Commonwheel Arts Festival. Book donations are always welcome, and proceeds from book sales go to benefit the Library. Hardcovers generally sell for $1.00, paperbacks for 50 cents. The sale's over 3,000 books attract much state-wide attention, so come by and "check us out!" If you would like to help out with the sale, please contact one of the board members. If you would like to donate books, please take boxed books to Treasure Chest Storage in Manitou Springs; they will direct you to our storage unit.
